Balmoral Care Center —
where caring is more than just a word

The Balmoral Care Center is part of the senior living options available at Lake Forest Place, and is home to those who need short- or long-term care. Residents of neighboring communities on Chicago’s North Shore can also benefit from services here. For some, it's a short stay for rehabilitation following hospitalization.

For others, it's a decision to receive more specialized skilled nursing or memory care. Since Lake Forest Place is a continuing care retirement community, residents can receive care at The Balmoral Care Center while a spouse or loved one remains in their independent living or assisted living residence.

Our campus has 24-hour security with cameras at each entryway and in public areas. Our staff is Medicare-certified in skilled nursing and home health services, and we are proud that the Balmoral Care Center has earned five-star ratings from www.Medicare.gov.

Our health care services include:

• Medical Services
  Medical services are led by a full-time medical director, who is a board-certified internist with extensive training in geriatrics. He makes an important contribution to the delivery of care at the Balmoral Care Center.  
• On-Staff Physicians
  When you come to the Balmoral Care Center, you can continue with the services of your physician or choose to see one of ours. In addition to our own medical director, we have an affiliation with a physician who sees residents as needed in our well-staffed clinic.
• Rehabilitation Services
  The Balmoral Care Center offers one of the most progressive rehabilitation programs in the area. Complete rehabilitation services, including physical, occupational and speech therapy, are available on campus. Aquatic therapy is offered in the warm-water therapy pool in the Fitness and Therapeutic Center. In addition, a full-time rehabilitation nurse coordinates care between nursing and rehabilitation.
• Professional Nursing Care
  Our professional nursing staff is specialized in the care of older adults. Registered nurses are on duty on each floor, 24 hours a day. They lead an interdisciplinary team in delivering resident care, which may include medication, rehabilitation and nutrition.
• Restorative Nursing
  A rehabilitation nurse leads this program, working with a team to address the specific restorative needs of residents. A nursing assistant works daily with the resident to continue exercises and strengthening techniques.
• Home Health Services
  We provide an array of services designed to continue your rehabilitation after hospitalization or a stay in health care, and to strengthen your independence as you recover at home. Services include skilled nursing from registered nurses, and rehabilitation therapy from physical, occupational and speech therapists as ordered by your physician.
• Supportive Services
  Our full-time social workers and chaplains are available for social, emotional and spiritual support.
